How would you define your region?

We are inclusive, accepting and welcoming. 

What is your region famous for?

The Gold Coast is a tourist hub with beautiful beaches on the east and the hinterland on the western side. The hinterland has many beautiful waterfalls, nature walks, an arts and crafts village and scenic drives. There are also beautiful coastal and headland walks to with stunning views. Of course, there are theme parks and many adventure experiences to enjoy as well.

What specific challenges do you wish to assist and support with in your region?

Social isolation, homelessness and risk of homelessness are critical areas people need support with. This is an area I would like to support.

What plans/events do you have that can support your region?

I would like to make a variety of events and activities available because we are all different, with different likes and dislikes. We also have varying commitments so events need to be offered across weekdays, evenings and weekends. In addition to coffee catch ups, I have suggested walking groups, exercise groups, picnics, book clubs, special interest groups and day trips. 

It would be great to link with another Hoody’s Heroes group from a different area and host weekends away where one group could billet the members from the other group and organise some activities and then reverse the arrangement where the first group travels and is billeted by the second group.
